  • 1¼ cups thick caramel sauce
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

How to Make Caramel Pretzel Bars

Step 1: Prepare the Baking Dish

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with butter.

Step 2: Create the Pretzel Crust

Place the pretzels in a large zip-top bag and crush them into coarse crumbs. Combine the crushed pretzels with the melted butter until evenly coated.

Press the mixture firmly into the bottom of the prepared baking dish, creating an even layer.

Step 3: Bake the Crust

Bake for 8–10 minutes until lightly golden and fragrant. Remove from the oven while keeping the oven heated.

Step 4: Add the Caramel Layer

Spread the caramel sauce evenly over the warm pretzel crust, making sure it reaches all corners of the dish.

Return the pan to the oven and bake for an additional 10–12 minutes until the caramel begins to bubble gently around the edges.

Step 5: Melt the Chocolate

Remove the pan from the oven and immediately sprinkle the chocolate chips over the hot caramel.

Allow the chocolate to soften for several minutes before spreading it into a smooth layer. For a decorative finish, create gentle swirls across the surface.

Step 6: Chill and Slice

Let the bars cool completely at room temperature. Refrigerate for at least 1–2 hours until fully set.

Once chilled, cut into squares and serve.
